The morning mist enchanted
And veiled the sleeping land,
The goddess held the people
So peaceful in her hand,
I stepped into the spellwork,
To walk forgotten ways,
That never lie uncovered
By honest sunlight's rays.
I heard the forest rattle
With creatures I don't know,
As they crept up closer
To check for friend or foe,
The ancient forest dwellers
Looked out behind the bark
And leaves and branches quivered,
They watched me in the dark.
♣The world would soon awaken,
The shadows faced defeat,
Knowing all would vanish when
I reached the city street.
The air was thick with spellwork,
Mist veiled the sleeping land,
The goddess held the people
So peaceful in her hand.
And veiled the sleeping land,

So peaceful in her hand,
I stepped into the spellwork,
To walk forgotten ways,
